Build system is well-done, the combat is pretty good, crafting is pretty well done, etc. Still, it's a great survival crafting game. Valheim was pretty good, though admittedly the story is virtually non-existent. Getting a bit away from exploration games. Heroes of hammer watch has some dopamine fueled base mechanics. But base building in both is fairly interesting. darkest dungeon you'll want to mod to be more casual and xcom is a tactical game at heart. Xcom and Darkest Dungeon have some interesting narrative design but. Sea of Thieves is fun but other players can mess with you and they will. Hades especially has a base you won't want to stop developing and you can turn house rules on to limit difficulty. Rogue Legacy and Hades are a lot more interesting than they look in this regard. Skyrim, Morrowind and Oblivion are all still great games meant for exploring. Just noticed you mentioned this but keeping this anyway. Don't let YouTube streamers ruin it for you. You have the capabilities to build your home as you like it, with different craftable parts having different functions such as water and food generation, farming, the ability to scan the environment around you, organize storage, and even hang decorations. As you play, you can learn new crafting recipes to get better and better equipment. You play a silent protagonist who must gather resources, often in the water, to survive. There is crafting, hunger, thirst, oxygen needs, and other survival mechanics where the user is stranded in a flooded aquatic world with occasional but rarely seen islands. ![]() Oh really?
